This Weeks Lessons Learned

This week I learned that Logan does not like to have her teeth brushed with extra strength benadryl itch stopping cream. I was not paying attention to what I was doing, and concentrating on getting Logan to come in to the bathroom to brush her teeth. I grabbed the wrong tube chased her around the house and finally cornered her and started to brush her teeth. Her reaction to the brushing led me to this conclusion. (On the plus side she didn't scratch her gums)
This week I learned that removing your child's diaper to allow air in to dry out the affected area works. But it is NOT a good idea if your child has diarrhea. I had the bright idea to take Logan's diaper off and she went running around and a playing while Stacy was taking a nap and I laid down on the other couch to watch television. Then I heard Logan let one out, which is a pretty normal non-alarming thing. The brown streaks running down her legs and the nice spill on the carpet led me to the conclusion that I probably should have left her diaper on. (Thank You Stacy for waking up and cleaning up the mess!!!)(In all fairness I did give Logan a bath afterwards)This week I learned that Dell no longer sends out
operating software with their computers. Stacy and I had a huge fight this weekend about missing software that I needed to reinstall the operating system on our computer. Our computer has been messing up lately and I really needed it. Well 4 hours later and our bedroom torn apart and every box we had was torn apart looking for it. I blamed Stacy and swore up in down we had it in San Diego and now it was missing. Stacy and I were no longer on speaking terms when I went up to look one more time and found a circular piece of paper in the shape of a CD stating Dell no longer sent the operating software with their computers. That if I was in need of it I could access it on the web. I concluded that I should insert my foot in my mouth and walk downstairs with my hat in hand to share the great news, which resulted in an I told you so @$$ !&@#This week I learned that Uncle Philip is not the most reliable person
when it comes to delivering messages. This past Friday I was giving Logan a bath when I saw a nice circular bite mark around Logan's forearm. I called for Stacy, and Stacy confirmed my suspicion. Stacy thought Logan bit herself, but there was no way she could of where the bite was located. When I picked her up and her teachers did not say anything to me about Logan getting bit. So Stacy and I were going to wait until Monday when I could ask her teachers about this purple bite mark she had. Then on Sunday Uncle Philip called to tell me a funny story. Philip is our emergency contact person on Logan's daycare form. The school could not get a hold of us because our San Diego numbers had changed to Austin ones. They told Philip that a little boy bit Logan, that she was alright and that we would get an incident report on Monday, and the little boy had to hold an ice pack on Logan's arm for 15 minutes. I conclude that Philip and Lauren need to have a child (Cooper doesn't count) so he knows that it is VERY important to pass that information as soon as possible. As a result of this incident there are 25 children in Logan's class and tonight we are making 24 cupcakes for Logan's birthday tomorrow. I plan on going tomorrow and handing out the cupcakes to the class, and then I will lead the class in ridiculing the boy that bit Logan in song, and eat our cupcakes in front of him, while he watches. I am sure that I learned other things this week these are the ones that stand out that I thought should be shared.

Now, now, in Philip's defense, and Amity can testify, he DID try to call you on Friday night. He had to call Amity to get your phone number since he (like the school) did not have your Austin number. Then he proceeded to call and nobody answered! Actually, that happened today as well when we tried to call and wish Logan "happy birthday" so we conclude you need an answering machine. Oh, also we conclude today is not the 5th but rather the 4th and Logan's birthday is indeed tomorrow.
